The Scorpion

The Scorpion

scorpion.jpg

A Master of the East saw a scorpion drowning and decided to remove it out of the water: however, when he tried, the scorpion pricked him. Reacting from the pain, the master let go and the scorpion fell back into the water, once again starting to drown. The master tried to remove it again and again the scorpion pricked him. A man who was watching came up to the master and said:

“Excuse me, Sir, but you are stubborn! Don't you understand that whenever you try to remove the scorpion out of the water it will prick you? The master answered:

“The nature of the scorpion is to prick; however, this won't change my nature, which is to help.”

Then, using a leaf, the master removed the scorpion out of the water and saved it’s life. He then continued:

“Don’t change your nature if somebody treats you badly; just take precautions.
Some try to destroy happiness, others delight in creating it.
When life shows you a thousand reasons to cry, show it that you have a thousand and one reasons for which to smile.

Be more concerned about your conscience than about your reputation. Remember, your conscience is who you are, and your reputation is what others think you are.. And what others think... that is their problem.

buzzard

THE BUZZARD:

If you put a buzzard in a pen that is 6 feet by 8 feet and is entirely open at the top, the bird, in spite of its ability to fly, will be an absolute prisoner. The reason is that a buzzard always begins a flight from the ground with a run of 10 to 12 feet. Without space to run, as is its habit, it will not even attempt to fly, but will remain a prisoner for life in a small jail with no top.

bat

THE BAT:

The ordinary bat that flies around at night, a remarkable nimble creature in the air, cannot take off from a level place. If it is placed on the floor or flat ground, all it can do is shuffle about helplessly and, no doubt, painfully, until it reaches some slight elevation from which it can throw itself into the air. Then, at once, it takes off like a flash.

bumblebee

THE BUMBLEBEE:

A bumblebee, if dropped into an open tumbler, will be there until it dies, unless it is taken out. It never sees the means of escape at the top, but persists in trying to find some way out through the sides near the bottom.. It will seek a way where none exists, until it completely destroys itself.

people

THE PEOPLE:

In many ways, we are like the buzzard, the bat, and the bumblebee. We struggle about with all our problems and frustrations, never realizing that all we have to do is look up! That's the answer, the escape route and the solution to any problem! Just look up.

Colossians 3:1-2

So if you’re serious about living this new resurrection life with Christ, act like it. Pursue the things over which Christ presides. Don’t shuffle along, eyes to the ground, absorbed with the things right in front of you. Look up, and be alert to what is going on around Christ – that’s where the action is. See things from His perspective. The Message

"LET'S KEEP FOCUSED"
(Philippians 3:15)

Focused living!

There are four great benefits to focused living:

1. It simplifies life! When you do not know your purpose, you try to do too much... and that causes stress, fatigue and conflict. You have only enough time and energy to do God's will. Not getting everything done may be an indicator that you are doing more than God intended you to do. Focused living leads to a simpler lifestyle and a saner schedule. "You, Lord, give perfect peace to those who keep their purpose firm" (Isaiah 26:3)

2. You become effective by being selective! If you want your life to have impact, focus it! Do not confuse activity with productivity. Defused light has limited impact, but when it is focused like a laser it can cut through steel.

3. It motivates you! "Nothing energizes, like clear purpose. It is meaningless work, not overwork, which wears us down. This is the true joy of life... being used up for a purpose recognized by yourself as a mighty one; being a force of nature instead of a selfish little clot of aimnets and grievances, complaining that the world will not devote itself to making you happy."....... quote from George Bernard.

4. It prepares you for eternity! People who spend their lives trying to create a lasting legacy on earth, fail to realize that.... all achievements are eventually surpassed, all records broken, all reputations fade, and all tributes are forgotten. Ultimately what matters most is not what others say about you, but what God says. So live with that in view!

God bless you
