Here are some of the reasons we love Natal!

Yes - life here has many more challenges than it does in the USA. But we are rich! not in money, but in LIFE! This wealth comes because of you who are praying for us. . . and the rest is because of God!

“Rich is the person who has a praying friend.” -- Janice Hughes

THE BEAUTY OF THE LORD

If I could paint a picture
Of the beauty of the Lord
And capture all the love and warmth
In heav’nly places stored,

My paint brush would be filled with life,
My canvas richly hued,
And colors we have never seen
Therein would be debuted

I could paint throughout all time
On canvas without end
To try to mix the shades and hues
Which He would have me blend.

And when I thought my work was done
There always would be more.
We cannot even comprehend
The “wealth” which is in store

If I can paint a fraction
Of His beauty with my brush,
The colors will transcend the norm
And be extremely lush.

Every day I yearn to know
And understand Him more.
His beauty spurs me on and on
His riches to explore.

“One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that
I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to
behold the beauty of the Lord, and to enquire in his temple.”
Psalm 27:4 KJV

Wind Chimes - Sinos de Vento

03/05/07

wind_chimes2

Wind chimes… how I love their unchained melodies! And they remind me of my father.
After he and my mother sold their business and family home, they bought a lovely manufactured home and placed it in a small park full of trees and flowers.

Dad always liked to help people. His hands couldn’t be idle, unless he was reading his Bible or a good book. When he wasn’t working outside in the yard to beautify it, or helping others, his hands found another task: creating wind chimes. They looked a lot like this picture, and created mellow and comforting sounds when the wind blew through them!

Because of all my moves, I sadly no longer have any of Dad’s chimes. However, whenever I hear the wind breathing and playing it’s music on wind chimes around me, I think of my beloved dad. A man who loved God, who loved people, who loved his wife and his children. Who loved me, and taught me how to love God.

I’m looking forward to that day when I’ll be with my earthly dad in heaven and I will hear, once again, the wind chimes that Dad makes fill the air with glorious music to worship God.

The Beauty of Trees

“I think that I shall never see
a poem lovely as a tree. . . ”
(Joyce Kilmer)

Full of mystery . . . or quiet and peace …
of grandeur . . . or beauty
Something we need to open our eyes and SEE,
learning from them.

Here comes the rain. The wind picks up and the air is cooler

Where does the water go? In just a few hours special reservoir near our house is filling.

voni-daily-word-1 Don’t Be Afraid, I Bring You Hope

“When I Am Afraid… I Will Trust The Promises Of God”

Do not be afraid!

Have you any idea how much it is costing you to fear things that never happen? Meteorologists say that a fog capable of covering 7 city blocks is made up of only one glass water, divided into 60 million particles. However, when it settles, it can obscure your entire vision! A little fear can do the same thing!

Why do almost half of us suffer from stress-related disorders? Because instead of walking in faith, we seem to think we can fly like jets on supercharged adrenaline… and we pay for it in terms of fear and anxiety.

It is so easy for fear to replace our faith because they have got something in common…both challenges us to believe that what you cannot see, is about to happen. Fear will convince you and I to run from something that is not after us at all. Know that fear will knock at your door, however faith will answer…..There is no one here! Amen.

But how do you and I overcome fear? By faith, and remembering that faith comes by hearing the Word of God. . Begin to feed your faith on the Scriptures, and watch your fears starve to death! Wow… what a nugget to remember!

Take the first fifteen minutes of your morning filling your head with the Word of God, that way there is no room left for worry. It is a great formula to be an eye opener for the start of your day.

Stand on the Word of God… When I am afraid…I will…. Trust in the Promises of God. You and I have got to do this…it will get us through the fog of life. Amen.

Today get into the Word and you will discover that God has got everything under control.

Be blessed in the Lord

Footprints

footprints

At times, one is confronted and overwhelmed with things to do and decisions about the future. Those are the times we specifically need to stop and be quiet. God said he would hold my right hand…(Isa 41:11-13) but am I going to let him lead me? or will I pull my hand away from His and run on ahead?

Each of us needs to learn how to wait on Him, and take one step at a time. I cannot decide my future today. But I can walk through the doors He opens for me today.

He leads you and I, one step at a time.

"Happiness is not a destination but a day-by-day journey."

Soaring

condor

I watch the birds in the sky, free, soaring on the winds. . . and I long to be with them.
But I am still anchored to this earth . . . Gravity controls my body, holding it down. ~
However, it doesn’t control my mind and spirit. I am free to fly! To soar, turn cartwheels in the wind, walk on the clouds.
My spirit is free to roam through the galaxies, holding the hand of my Lord, worshipping my God!
