SOLA SCRIPTURA (Scripture Alone)

Matthew 24:35
“Heaven and earth will pass away, but My Words will by no means pass away.

There is an old adage and it will always be true,

Sin will keep you from God’s Word, but God’s Word will keep you from sin.”

Psalm 119:11
Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You!

John 5:39
You diligently study the Scriptures because
you think that by them you possess
life. These are the Scriptures that testify about me,

The Bible is the infallible Word of God; it is the most read book in the world. It is a book that contains the very Words from Almighty God, it is not a collection of stories or fables. It is God’s manual for our lives. Aside from this book we would know nothing about the supernatural world. All that man knows about creation, God the Father, Jesus Christ His Son, His Holy Spirit, Heaven, life after death, Satan and Hell, is found within the pages of this book, the Holy Scriptures we call the Bible. The word is simply the expression of our hidden thoughts. Only when the hidden thought is put into words is that thought communicated to others. It is through THE WORD that the hidden God was able to communicate, reveal Himself to us, The Bible, God’s inspired Word was given to us so that we would know Him and know the Truth according to Him and not by men. The future is a mystery to all men but the Bible gives us a look into the future and dispels some of that mystery that has eluded men down through the ages. It shows us that there is life after death for the believer in Heaven with the Father and His Son. For the unbeliever it warns of separation from the Father and Son forever. It shows us that there are Judgments that await us and tells us that on the other side of death there are no second chances. What we do while living here on earth is recorded in Heavens Books forever. It also tells us what God requires of us if we are to avoid Hell and make Heaven our home. The Bible is God’s hidden thoughts revealed to us through The Written WORD.

The only way for us to know for sure what God expects of us is to stay true to what we know He has revealed to us through the Bible, Sola Scriptura, (Scripture Alone). We can know, beyond the shadow of a doubt, that Scripture is true, that it is authoritative, and is totally reliable. The same cannot be said of church traditions. The Word of God is the only authority that the Christian faith should recognize or accept in this world. Some traditions are valid but only when they are based on Scripture and are in full agreement with the Scriptures. Traditions that contradict the Bible are not of God and therefore are not a valid aspect of the Christian faith. Sola Scriptura is the only way we can avoid subjectivity and personal opinion from taking priority over the teachings of the Bible. The essence of Sola Scriptura is basing your spiritual life on the Bible alone, and rejecting any tradition or teaching that is not in full agreement with the Bible.

2 Timothy 2:15
“Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved,
a workman who
does not need to be ashamed and who
correctly handles the Word of truth.”

The most important thing the Scriptures do for us is to reveal Jesus, who He is and why He came to earth and what He did to redeem a lost human race. The Bible says it is that which testifies of Him. Is there any more powerful a motive for people to read the Scriptures then this, ‘His Word testifies of Him?’ He who diligently reads the Scriptures will find Jesus and he who finds Him will also find Life, Heaven, and everything else that is important for eternal life. A warning to those who regard God’s Word to lightly or despise it, when you do this you also despise the God who wrote it. The consequences for this are severe for God’s mercy and Grace will be removed from them. No one can be a true follower of Jesus Christ and at the same time deny the Truth of the Bible. The Bible is the only source of truth that is absolute that this world will ever see. If this is true then it is inconsistent for anyone to say, “I am a Christian and at the same time deny the Truth of God’s Word and live in rebellion to it.”

As Christians we need to have our priorities in order, and two of the most important of these priorities are Prayer and reading God’s Word, the Holy Bible. If you do not commit yourself to knowing what is in God’s Word and following it, you will fail to know and experience God. His Word is LIFE to our souls. As believers we can so easily get caught up in the things of this world and can’t seem to separate them from our Christian walk. We take our eyes off of our Heavenly goal and allow our worldly desires to become our goal. It is not hard to do when our eyes are focused on the wrong things. The things of this world are temporary; the things not seen are eternal. The question now is how do we change this situation? How do we get our eyes focused on the right things? It is not easy as many have found out. It takes discipline, along with determination, and a willingness to face up to our human weaknesses and our need of God’s Holy Spirit and His Word.

Matthew 4:4
“It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but
by every word that
proceeds from the mouth of God.”

The primary reason for reading and studying the Bible should be to get to know the Author, to get to know Him in such a way that we will have an intimate, personal relationship with Him. It is through the Scriptures that we learn who He is, what He is like, and what He desires of us His people. It is through the Scriptures that we find Jesus, the Father and their will for our lives. It is through our obeying or disobeying His Word that He says we love Him or don’t love Him.

John 14:24
“He who does not love Me does not obey My words;

Deuteronomy 4:29
“But from there you will seek the LORD your
God, and you will find Him
        if you seek Him
with all your heart and with all your soul.

The Bible is God’s inspired, inerrant Word representing Absolute Truth and our final authority in all matters! What I share with you as I deal with what is happening in our present world as well as our personal lives are not my thoughts, or my ideas, or my opinions, but God’s, which comes through His Holy Spirit working in my life. What I share with you today is literally coming right out of the Bible, for what I think really doesn’t matter at the end of the day and it doesn’t really matter what you think, it only matters what God thinks! Of course we both have the free will to think and believe whatever we want to think and believe, but Truth isn’t what we decide it to be, it is what God’s Word says it is! We aren’t perfect. We are simply human, frail flesh and blood redeemed by the Blood of the Lamb, endeavoring to lean not on our own understanding, but in all our ways to acknowledge Him.

Since this book we call the Bible is so important to what we believe, what do we know about it? Where did it come from, who wrote it? Is it relative to our everyday living, does it affect what we do today? How important is it to God, what value does He put on it? As we attempt to answer these questions we do not want to do it by leaning on our own understanding, we must totally rely on God’s Holy Spirit to open our hearts and minds. We must have a teachable spirit. The Bible bridges that vast communication gap between God and man by being both earthly and heavenly; this is the way God chose to communicate His truth to us. We must study the Word as if our very lives depended on it, for they do, our eternal lives. As one who can personally identify with this, it is possible to get so caught up with defending the Word and confronting its attackers that you no longer can glean the life giving nectar that God wants to infuse into us and into our personal walk with Him. Every Scripture you read is immediately translated to buttress some theological issue for today and in so doing we have become puffed up and lack the humility necessary to allow the Word to change us from glory to glory.

The Word is our daily bread, and only the Word can direct our paths so as to walk in His steps. You want to reinvigorate your pursuit of knowing Him, then you and I must fall into an insatiable thirst and love for the written Word for in them Jesus lives also. Oh yes, do not ever diminish the written Word for in them Jesus reveals Himself to each seeking follower. To those who ingest it vigorously they find daily sustenance, cleansing conviction, and faith building power that can only come from its scared pages. Do not allow anyone to diminish the paramount importance of the written Word as the glorious communicator of truth to the believer. Forever, O Lord, thy Word is settled in heaven. God does not argue over His Word, it is settled in Heaven, He just desires that His followers would stop relying on their own strength and completely give themselves to the Word. Remember, Jesus inhabits those Words, for He is the Word. He offers the revelation of Himself to us personally through our heartfelt commitment to seeking His face through His Word. The Lord is always standing by to uphold His Word and this Word can be life, or it can bring death. Do you take God’s Word seriously? Is it life or death for you? We must all have a fearful respect of God’s Word, for truly it is life or death. We are to live by His Word while here on earth for we will be judged by His Word in the end. The Bible is God’s inspired, inerrant Word representing Absolute Truth and it is our final authority in all matters because it works!!! The Bible is God’s instruction manual for life, and if you read it and follow the instructions and do what it says, IT WORKS! The Bible is God’s Plan ‘A’ He has no plan ‘B’ for He did not plan to fail. Believe it – Trust it.

John 1:1-2
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the
Word was with God
            and the Word was God.
2 He was with God in the beginning.

clip_image008 1)BREAD OF LIFE

Now the other building block of this pursuit is God’s precious Holy Spirit. There are many who are called Evangelicals who are students of the written Word, and especially familiar with the well worn themes of conventional teachings. These Biblical teachings are the ones that most of us would wholeheartedly agree with and would defend as Biblical Truth, Truths which are essential for us to be able to understand the Word. But it is possible to study and become well versed in the Scriptures complete with all the doctrinal baggage of conservative teachings which can stand the scrutiny, of doctrinal truth but is void of the life and love which always accompanies the presence of the Holy Spirit. What some may say and teach may be correct and truthful, but the Word also admonishes us that we are to speak the truth in love. The Word when spoken and taught by a vessel that has neglected their prayer life, and who shows little love for those who are lost, and shows no sense of humility, becomes as the Word says in

1 Corinthians 13:1
Though I speak with the tongues of men and
of angels, but have not
          love, I have become
like sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.

Proverbs 3:5
Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;

1 Corinthians 2:13
These things we also speak, not in words
which man’s wisdom teaches but
the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spirit.

This means it came from God as He divinely and supernaturally influenced ordinary men to write it and pass it on to the world. Men wrote it, but God, through His Holy Spirit, inspired them, guided them and prompted them as to what they were to write. It is very important that we understand that the Word did not come about by the interpretation of men using their own wisdom. The Holy Spirit motivated and inspired them to write what they did and it is He who watches over, guards the Inspired Word from those who would defame it, who would disparage it, revile and would blaspheme it.

2 Peter 1:20-21
20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of
Scripture is of any private interpretation,
21 for prophecy never came by the will of
man, but holy men of God spoke as they
were moved by the Holy Spirit.

Not only is the Word inspired by God which makes it infallible, it also teaches and reveals to us through the Holy Spirit the mysteries of God. It reproves and corrects us when it is necessary and provides for us instructions on how to live righteously. The Scriptures are our source of authority for faith and what we practice. It is for the whole man and woman and makes them complete and equipped to do the work God calls us to do. We must all have a fearful respect for God’s Word.

2 Timothy 3:16-17
16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of
God, and is profitable for doctrine, for
reproof, for correction, for instruction
in righteousness,
17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

This means by its very nature it has no beginning and no ending, it will never cease, it will last forever and is unchangeable. It was with God in the beginning and will endure forever.

Psalm 119:89
Your word, O LORD, is eternal; it stands firm in the heavens.

John 1:1-2
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the
Word was with God,
           and the Word was God.
2 He was in the beginning with God.

1 Peter 1:25
But the Word of the Lord endures forever.
Now this is the Word
         which by the gospel
was preached to you.

The Bible is the corner stone which holds our faith together, for it is the very Word of God and it is eternal, we can stake our lives on it. It is the only true and solid foundation that we can build on. We live by it, we will die by it, and we will be judged by it. You never start building from the top down, you start from the bottom up on a foundation, the foundation we build on is eternal and cannot be shaken, and it is forever settled in Heaven in Christ Jesus, who is the Living Eternal Word.

1 Corinthians 3:11
For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.

Ephesians 2:19-20
19 Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers
and foreigners, but fellow citizens
         with the
saints and members of the household of God,
20 having been built on the foundation of the
apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself
being the chief corner stone,

Psalm 138:2
I will worship toward Your holy temple, and praise Your name for Your loving
and Your truth; for You have
magnified Your Word above Your name.

In our world an official document which is not signed is worthless. The signature of a person makes the document official. God reversed this procedure. He put His Word, the document, before or above His own name. If God so honors His Word that He exalts or magnifies it above His name, we can do no less than put our complete trust and faith in it. Another reason He honors it is because His Son Jesus is the Word, the Living Word.

John 1:1
In the beginning was the Word (Jesus), and the Word was with God and the Word was God.

It is important that we are very careful when we endeavor to teach God’s Word. We should at all times depend on the Holy Spirit to guide us and to reveal God’s truths to us. We should regard the Word with utmost reverence and endeavor to never violate or dishonor it. One of the dangers we are to be very careful about is our presuppositions. These are our predetermined opinions, based on our backgrounds, our denominational teachings, and our culture. There are other things we could add to that list but the main point is that we do not pollute God’s Word with our human presuppositions. God is very adamant on this issue.

Deuteronomy 4:2
You shall not add anything to the word
which I command you, nor take anything from
it, that you may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.

Proverbs 30:6
Do not add to His words, for He will rebuke you, and you will be found a liar.

Revelation 22:19
If anyone takes away from the words of the
book of this prophecy, God shall take away
his part from the Book of Life, from the holy
city, and from the things which are written
in this book.

Just as God has sanctified and set His people apart from the world through His Son Jesus, so t He sanctifies and sets apart His Word, the Holy Bible, from all the books written by men. It is not just another book to be read; it is the Living Word, the Bread of Life, and the Power of God unto salvation.

Bible- The Word

Romans 1:16
It is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes.

We can put our complete trust in God’s Word and rest in it, knowing that it is a revelation of Himself,  His purpose and will for us His people. We can trust Him to guard this revelation from the errors of

man. Though men have written their own bibles, filled with their human ideas, some inspired by Satan himself, we have full confidence that the Holy Bible has been kept infallible, guarded by His Holy Spirit.

Psalm 111:7
The works of His hands are true and just; all His precepts are trustworthy.

I King 8:56
Blessed be the LORD, who has given rest
to His people Israel, according to all that
He promised. There has not failed one word of all His good promise,

We are talking about a book from which every word it contains came from the mouth of God and was written by men under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. He has given it to us to live by for it is His Word, and it is completely trustworthy. God said what He meant and meant what He said.

Ephesians 6:17
And take the helmet of salvation, and the Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God

Hebrews 4:12
For the Word of God is living and powerful,
and sharper than any two-edged sword,
piercing even to the division of soul and
spirit, and of joints and marrow, and can
distinguish clearly the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Romans 1:16
For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of
Christ, for it is the Power of God unto
salvation for everyone who believes,

The Word of God is our spiritual weapon, without it we are no match for Satan. Jesus, when tempted three times by Satan in the wilderness, rebuked and defeated him by using the written Word. Three times He rebuffed Satan’s temptations with, “It is written.” It was His weapon, His spiritual sword, it was very effective, Satan’s efforts where defeated by it. It is also our spiritual sword and with it we to can defeat Satan’s efforts to defeat us. It is our SWORD, our weapon to be used against the powers of darkness. We are to revere it and live by its precepts

Matthew 4:4
But He answered and said, “It is written,
‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by
every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’”

Psalm 119:105
Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

This world is covered by a spiritual darkness that is getting worse as time goes on. His Word not only lights our pathway through this darkness, it also helps us show others the Way. We have been given the responsibility of pushing back that darkness and God has given us His Word, the eternal light, to accomplish this enormous task. We are not to curse the darkness; we are to let His light reflect from us and disperse the darkness. Darkness cannot put out light – but light can dispel darkness.

Psalm 119:130
The entrance of Your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple

Proverbs 6:23
For the commandment is a lamp, and the law a light;

2 Peter 1:19
And so we have the prophetic word confirmed,
which you should pay close
          attention to as a
light that shines in a dark place,

My light may be poor, but it will be light, not darkness.

Romans 15:4
For whatever things were written before
were written for our learning, that we
through the perseverance and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope.

Hope is a commodity that this world has very little off or maybe none at all to offer to its inhabitants. Every way men turn seems to end in disappointment, dejection or defeat. The one and only hope

for this dying world is contained in the Holy Scriptures, the True Word of God, Jesus, and sadly it is looked upon by those with no hope as foolishness and therefore rejected.

1 Corinthians 1:18
For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing,

We, God’s children, have this hope, it cannot be taken away from us but it must be used and shared with others or we will lose it. This hope is found in God’s Word, the Holy Bible. It is called the Blessed Hope which is the imminent return of our Lord and Savior Jesus for we His Bride, God’s children.

Titus 2:13
Looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ,

Proverbs 22:6
Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.

More and more we are reading and hearing about child violence. Crimes that once were committed by adults only are now committed by children. Our so called leaders and experts are wringing their hands and shaking their heads, not knowing what the answer is to all of this. God knows the answer and He has given it to us in His Word the Bible. He made it very clear what we are to do. Sadly it is not being followed and obeyed in too many places.

Deuteronomy 4:10
‘Gather the people to Me, and I will let them
hear My words, that they may learn to
Me all the days they live on the earth, and that they may teach their children.’

Deuteronomy 11:18-21
18 “Therefore you shall lay up these words of mine in your heart and in your soul, and

bind them as a sign on your hand, and they
shall be as ribbons between your eyes.
19 You shall teach them to your children, speaking
of them when you sit in your house,
              when you
walk by the way, when you lie down, and when
you rise up.
20 “And you shall write them on the door posts of
your house and on your gate
21 that your days and the days of your children may be multiplied.

Matthew 18:3
I tell you the truth, unless you change and
become like little children, you will never
enter the Kingdom of Heaven.

clip_image024MY FATHER

Psalm 127:3
Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD,

Luke 18:16
But Jesus called the children to Him and
said, “Let the little children come to Me,
and do not hinder them, for the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these.

God’s promises are, “Yea and Amen” we can count on them, we need them, and our children need them. How will they get them, only from us as we claim God’s Word? We cannot live a Christian life

without the Bible, the Infallible Word of God. Without the Word we have no promises to claim for our children. If it is to keep our children from the snare of Satan, they must see a desire in us for His Word and our desire to live by it, and our desire to make it known to them. Our children are a God given responsibility, we will be held accountable for them. Not the schools, the government or any other outside force. We must love them, take time to teach them, and be en example for them in all godly living.

The Bible is not an ornament to be put on a table for a decoration, or to be displayed under our arm to impress someone. It is to be an inherent part of our everyday spiritual life just as food is for our physical life. If an individual is denied physical food long enough certain things begin to happen to that person. First the body begins to weaken and eventually the arms and legs will not function, the person will not have the strength to move. Then the immune system weakens and the body is more susceptible to disease. The brain will be affected and the mind will no longer function properly, then we know the final and most drastic thing to happen is death. That is the physical man and we can repeat those symptoms over to the spiritual man. Spiritually the same situation will occur and as the spiritual man weakens he becomes susceptible to all of Satan’s temptations. If it continues the spiritual man will eventually die. Those who achieve real stability and maturity in their inner spiritual life are the people who meditate and feed day and night on the Word of God. A wonderful man of God by the name of E. Stanley Jones once said, “Lord, make me as hungry for your Word as I am for my physical food.” AMEN!

Jeremiah 15:16
Your words were found, and I ate them, and Your
word was to me the joy and
            rejoicing of my heart;

Psalm 34:8
Taste and see that the LORD is good;

Psalm 119:103
How sweet are Your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth!

Matthew 4:4
“It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread
alone, but by every word that
from the mouth of God.’”

John 1:1
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word
was with God, and the
        Word was God.

Psalm 1:1-3
1 Blessed is the man who walks not in the
counsel of the ungodly,
        nor stands in the
path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the
2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD,
and in His law he meditates
        day and night.
3 He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers
of water that brings forth
        its fruit in its season,
whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever
he does shall prosper.

If we rule out the Word of God, we have absolutely no revelation concerning the love, grace, compassion  and character of God. He reveals Himself to us through His Word. We do not know God aside from His Word. The Bible cannot be understood by mere finite human intelligence, it must be spiritually discerned and He has given us His Holy Spirit to help us to discern it.

1 Corinthians 2:13-14
13 These things we also speak, not in words
which man’s wisdom teaches but which
the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual
things with spiritual.
14 But the natural man does not receive the
things of the Spirit of God, for they are
foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

1 Corinthians 2:13-14
13 These things we also speak, not in words
which man’s wisdom teaches but which
the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual
things with spiritual.
14 But the natural man does not receive the
things of the Spirit of God, for they are
foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

We have the Holy Bible. We now know where it came from, how it was written. We know that it is very important to our Christian walk. But if we don’t avail ourselves of it we never will receive anything from it. We must be doers of the Word not hearers only. When we go to a restaurant, one of the first things we do after being seated is pick up the menu. We read it, we study it, we go over it a few times to see what it offers and to choose what we want. But our hunger is not satisfied by studying the menu or having the waitress explain it to us. Only when we order and then receive what we ordered, and eat of it, is our hunger satisfied. So it is with God’s Word. If we make studying the Bible our goal and never get to know the Author or the one who represents Him, the Holy Spirit, we become like the Pharisees. These were men who studied and searched the Scriptures diligently, but never got to know the Author who was there among them. They studied the word, but would not accept the Word Himself, Jesus Christ. They were so close to the menu, yet so far from the meal.

John 6:35
Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life .
He who comes to Me will
       never go hungry,
and he who believes in Me will never be thirsty.

Jesus is the Living Word and as we search the Scriptures the Precious Holy Spirit will reveal Him to us through this Word. The primary reason for our reading the Scriptures should be to get to know the Author of those Scriptures in a personal way. The Bible was given to men by the Father through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit and  as we open its sacred pages it will help us to mature spiritually, and to live Holy, Godly lives. Cherish it, reverence it and devour it. To summarize all that has been said I want to present the following; the author of it is unknown to me.

The Bible Contains:

The mind of God, and the state of man, the way of salvation, the doom of sinners and the happiness of believers. Its doctrines are holy, its precepts are binding, its histories are true, and its decisions are immutable. Read it to be wise, believe it to be safe and practice it to be holy. It contains light to direct your path, spiritual food to support you and comfort to cheer you. It is the traveler’s map, the pilgrim’s staff, the pilot’s compass, the soldiers’ sword and the Christian’s charter. It is where paradise is restored, Heaven is opened and the gates of hell disclosed. Christ is its grand subject, our good it’s design, and the Glory of God is its end. It should fill the memory, rule the heart and guide the feet. Read it slowly, frequently and prayerfully. It is a mine of wealth, a paradise of glory and a river of pleasure. It is given to us in life, and will be opened at the judgment and be remembered forever. It involves the highest responsibility, rewards the greatest labor and condemns all who trifle with its Holy contents. AMEN!!!

Study it to be WISE – Believe it to be SAFE – Practice it to be HOLY.

Consider the following facts about the Bible:
the Bible is not just one single book.  This is a more common misconception than many people realize, Rather than being a single book, the Bible is actually a collection of 66 individual books, which is called the canon of scriptures. This is the books of the Bible recognized by many Christian scholars down through the years as genuine and inspired. These 66 books contain a variety of genres, artistic form or content: history, poetry, prophecy, wisdom literature, letters, and apocalyptic just to name a few.
Second, these 66 books were written by 40 different authors.  These authors came from a variety of backgrounds: shepherds, fishermen, doctors, kings, prophets, and others.  And most of these authors never heard or knew each other personally.
Third, these 66 books were written over a period of 1500 years.  Yet again, this is another fact to back up or corroborate for us that many of these authors could never have known or collaborated with one another in writing these books.
Fourth, the 66 books of the Bible were written in 3 different languages.  In the Bible we have books that were written in the ancient languages of Hebrew, Greek, and Aramaic; a reflection of the historical and cultural circumstances in which each of these books were written.
Fifth and finally, these 66 books were written on 3 different continents: Africa, Asia, and Europe.  Once again, this is a testament to the varied historical and cultural circumstances of God’s people.
Think about the above realities: 66 books, written by 40 different authors, covering a period of over 1500 years, in 3 different languages, on 3 different continents.  What’s more, this collection of books shares a common storyline- the creation, fall, and redemption of God’s people; a common theme- God’s universal love for all of humanity; and a common message- salvation is available to all who repent of their sins and commit to following God’s Son Jesus Christ with all of their heart, soul, mind and strength. In addition to sharing these commonalities, these 66 books contain no historical errors or contradictions.  God’s word truly is an amazing collection of writings!

If after reading all of this you still do not believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God, if you do not believe that the Bible is of a supernatural origin, then I challenge you to take this simple test.” “I challenge you to go to any library in the world, you can choose any library you like. Then find 66 books which match the characteristics of the 66 books in the Bible.  You must choose 66 books, written by 40 different authors, covering a period of over 1500 years. They must be written in 3 different languages, written on 3 different continents.  However, they must share a common storyline, a common theme, and a common message, with no historical errors or contradictions.” “If you can produce such a collection of books then I will admit to you that the Bible is not the inspired word of God.”  “But that’s impossible” you say and I agree with you, for it is truly impossible to find such a collection of human writings. However, the Bible overwhelmingly passes this test. Double check this yourself by picking up your or anyone’s Bible and you will see for yourself that it does contains 66 books, written by 40 different authors, spanning over 1500 years, in 3 different languages, on 3 different continents, with no historical errors or contradictions.  The entire Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, bears the mark of Divine inspiration, a Supernatural Beginning, a Divine Author.

The chance for this to be by chance or for the Bible to be written by man using his own intelligence would be just as real as for you to take your wrist watch and disassemble it completely. Piece by piece, screw by screw, spring by spring, plus the case and then place all the pieces in your hand and throw the pieces into the air and when they land – Presto – you have a completely reassembled watch this is running in perfect order. The next time you encounter someone who asks you why you believe the Bible is the inspired word of God, try sharing this challenge with them.

Isaiah 55:10-11
10 As the rain and the snow come down from heaven,
and do not return to it without watering the
          earth and
making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for
the sower and bread for the eater,
11 so is My word that goes out from My mouth: It will
not return to Me empty, but will accomplish
          what  I
desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.
